In-Person EMDR Intensive Therapy in Cincinnati & virtual in Ohio & North Carolina

You’re ready to get started. Let’s look at the logistics of therapy so you know what to expect.

You are worth the investment.

I know it can feel like a big risk investing in counseling if you’ve been in counseling before and didn’t quite get the results you were looking for, or if you’ve never been in counseling before and you have no idea what to expect. Either way, you feel like there’s no guarantee.

I also know what you’re telling yourself – you don’t have the time, you don’t have the money, you could hire a counselor for less.

It’s true you could find a counselor for less, but your health and happiness are worth the investment.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy method designed to help process and heal from trauma, anxiety, and other emotional challenges. Developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro, EMDR follows an eight-phase structured approach:

    1. History Taking and Treatment Planning: Understanding your unique background to guide therapy.

    2. Preparation: Building trust and explaining the EMDR process.

    3. Assessment: Identifying target memories and associated negative beliefs.

    4. Desensitization: Processing memories using bilateral stimulation like eye movements or tapping.

    5. Installation: Reinforcing positive beliefs.

    6. Body Scan: Addressing any lingering physical sensations.

    7. Closure: Ensuring emotional balance at the end of each session.

    8. Reevaluation: Reviewing progress and identifying any remaining concerns.

EMDR has proven effective for treating PTSD, anxiety, depression, phobias, grief, and more. It’s also helpful for issues like self-esteem, performance anxiety, and interpersonal challenges.

  • Yes, EMDR therapy can be conducted effectively online. We use secure software to facilitate bilateral stimulation, including eye movements, tapping, or audio cues. This allows for a seamless and user-friendly experience on your computer, tablet, or phone. Your therapist will guide you through the process to ensure comfort and effectiveness in virtual sessions.

  • EMDR Intensives offer a focused, deep-dive approach to therapy. Instead of weekly sessions, an intensive allows you to spend extended time (typically 1–3 days) with your therapist, enabling faster progress and deeper healing.

This approach is ideal for clients who want to:

    • Address specific concerns quickly.

    • Minimize the time spent in ongoing weekly sessions.

    • Focus on resolving trauma or anxiety in a concentrated timeframe.

  • We provide EMDR intensives both in-person and virtually:

    • In-Person Sessions: Held in Cincinnati, OH, offering a calm, private environment for your therapy.

    • Virtual Sessions: Available across Ohio and North Carolina, allowing you to experience intensive therapy from the comfort of your own home.

  • EMDR Intensives may be a great fit if you:

    • Are ready to engage deeply in a focused, concentrated session.

    • Struggle with anxiety, trauma, or unresolved emotional challenges.

    • Feel comfortable exploring vulnerability and addressing physical sensations tied to emotional memories.

    • Prefer an accelerated approach to therapy rather than traditional weekly sessions.

If you’re unsure, a free consultation can help determine whether an intensive is right for you.

  • Online therapy mirrors in-person sessions, but you can participate from the comfort of your own space. Before each session, you’ll receive a secure link to a HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure your privacy and confidentiality. All consent forms and payments are managed through our secure online system.

  • Traditional individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes. EMDR intensives are longer, allowing for extended time to focus on your goals. Your therapist will discuss the best structure for your needs.

  • We accept credit cards, debit cards, HSA, and FSA cards through our secure online portal. If you have questions about other payment options, feel free to contact us.

  • Appointments are reserved exclusively for you. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur the full session fee.

  • As a private pay provider, we create maximum flexibility and privacy for our clients.

We’re able to focus on tailoring your care to your specific needs because there won’t be an insurance company dictating important aspects of therapy such as the length of our meetings or how frequently we’re able to meet.

For those that wish to use their insurance benefits you may qualify for out-of-network coverage; meaning your insurer may reimburse you for a portion of our work together.

If you'd like more information before you speak with your insurance provider, please let us know.

** Please note, some insurance plans do not provide the option for out-of-network coverage, additionally some insurance providers may choose not to reimburse for online therapy.
